About Our Quran Classes

Structured Quran classes in Leeds - for children, adults and beginners

Whether your child is picking up an Arabic letter for the very first time or already reading and needs to improve their Tajweed, our classes in Beeston (LS11) provide the structure, patience and personal attention to help them genuinely progress.

Adult learners are also welcome - we run dedicated adult Quran classes, whether you're starting from the basics or returning after many years.

Many parents across South Leeds search for 'Quran classes near me' without finding somewhere they trust. Madrasa Darul Yasin has become a beacon of success in the Beeston community since we opened - our students come from Morley, Middleton, Holbeck, Hunslet and beyond, and their parents see the difference.

We don't just teach Quran reading - we build a proper foundation: correct pronunciation (Makharij), Tajweed rules, key Duas and Surahs, and the kind of Islamic character and adab that parents want to see in their children.

  • Beginner-focused curriculum - Children from age 4, taught through Qa'idah step-by-step from the very beginning
  • Tajweed and proper recitation - Learn correct pronunciation (Makharij) and Tajweed rules alongside reading
  • Adults welcome - it's never too late, and we go at your pace
  • Online Quran classes available for families across the UK
  • Advanced students can progress to our Alimiyyah Programme - deeper Islamic scholarship

Trusted by Local Families

Families from across South Leeds have trusted Darul Yasin for years. Our parent reviews reflect the difference they have seen in their children.

Our Teaching Approach

How we teach Quran - and why it works

A lot of madrasas teach Quran. What matters is how they do it. At Darul Yasin, we use a structured, stage-by-stage method that mirrors how children naturally learn - building confidence first, then accuracy, then speed.

Every lesson starts with revision of what was covered previously, before any new material is introduced. This ensures nothing gets forgotten and students genuinely retain what they learn rather than just getting through it.

Our teachers give each student individual feedback within the group setting - correcting pronunciation (Makharij) in the moment, not at the end of term. Parents tell us this is the difference they notice: their children are actually improving, not just attending.

Stage by Stage
  • Stage 1 - Qa'idah Foundation: Arabic alphabet, letter joining and basic sounds. No rushing past this - a weak foundation causes problems later.
  • Stage 2 - Fluency Building: Reading practice with correct pronunciation and letter rules. Students build pace without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Stage 3 - Tajweed Rules: Formal Tajweed rules introduced once fluency is established.
  • Stage 4 - Quran Reading: Working through the Quran with teacher supervision, applying all rules correctly from the start.
  • Stage 5 - Hifz Pathway: For students who reach the right level - structured memorisation with dedicated revision cycles.

Students progress through stages at their own pace. Your child is never held back - or pushed forward before they're ready.

Curriculum

What your child will learn in our Quran classes

A complete Islamic foundation - not just reading, but understanding, recitation and character.

Arabic Alphabet & Qa'idah

Starting from scratch - correct letter shapes, sounds and joining rules. The foundation every student needs before reading the Quran.

Tajweed - Correct Recitation

Proper pronunciation rules taught step by step. Students learn to recite with accuracy and beauty, avoiding the errors that are hard to unlearn later.

Quran Reading (Nazira)

Fluent reading through the Quran with teacher guidance - building confidence and pace at a level suited to each student.

Key Surahs & Daily Duas

The short chapters, prayers and supplications your child will use every single day of their life - memorised with meaning.

Hifz Pathway (Memorisation)

For students who are ready to begin memorising the Quran - a structured, supported programme with dedicated Huffaz teachers.

Islamic Manners & Salah

Adab, respect, and the fundamentals of prayer - taught naturally alongside Quran so students build their whole Islamic identity.

Online Quran Classes

Online Quran classes - live, interactive, UK-wide

Can't get to our Beeston centre? Our online Quran classes bring the same qualified teachers, the same structured curriculum and the same small-group environment directly to your home - anywhere in the UK.

Sessions run live via video call. Your child is in a real class with a real teacher who knows their name, tracks their progress and corrects their recitation in the moment - not a recorded video or an app.

Many families in towns without a local madrasa use our online programme as their primary Quran education. Others use it during school holidays or when in-person attendance isn't possible.

  • Live sessions - not pre-recorded, not automated
  • Same qualified Alim & Alimah teachers as our Leeds centre
  • Small group sessions - typically 6–8 students online
  • All ages and levels welcome, from complete beginners upwards
  • Evenings and weekends to fit your family's schedule
  • All you need is a device and a quiet space

Is online Quran learning actually effective?

Yes - when it is live and structured. The key difference is a real teacher who corrects your child in the moment, not a video they watch alone. Our online students progress at the same rate as in-person students because the teaching method is identical.

  • Teacher sees and hears your child - live Tajweed correction every session
  • Real interaction, real relationships - not an app or a recording
  • Same termly progress reports as in-person students
  • Used as the primary Islamic education by families across the UK
