Quran Classes Leeds — questions parents and adults ask us
Everything you need to know before getting in touch.
Darul Yasin Madrasa provides structured Islamic education in Leeds — Quran reading, Arabic, Hifz, Tajweed, Islamic studies, and a full Alimiyyah programme.
We are not a primary or secondary school. We operate outside mainstream school hours — evenings and weekends — as a complement to your child's standard education. Many families across Leeds, Beeston, Morley, and Middleton rely on us as their dedicated Islamic schooling provision.
We are based at 256 Dewsbury Road, Beeston, Leeds LS11 6JQ. Online classes are available UK-wide.
We welcome children from age 4 onwards. Classes are grouped by age and ability level so every child gets teaching that is right for where they are. We also teach teenagers and adults — learning has no age limit.
Absolutely. We start from the very beginning. Our Noorani Qaida course teaches the Arabic alphabet and the foundations of Quran reading before progressing to full recitation. No prior knowledge is needed at all.
This is one of the most common situations among our adult students. You are not alone — and you are very welcome. We place you at the right level from wherever you currently are, rebuild your confidence gradually, and there is absolutely no judgement here.
Many adults who rejoin after years away are surprised at how quickly fluency returns with the right guidance.
Message us to find your level ✉Start by messaging us on 07731 926357 or booking a free trial. We will assess where you are in a friendly, no-pressure conversation, and place you in the right class.
Most adult beginners start with Noorani Qaida to learn Arabic letters and sounds, then progress to full Quran reading. Evening and online slots are available to work around your schedule.
Yes. We run separate, dedicated classes for girls and ladies — all taught by qualified female teachers in a comfortable, sisters-only environment.
Girls' classes are available as part of our regular timetable. Ladies' sessions are available in-person in Leeds and online across the UK. See the ladies section below for full details.
We keep classes small — typically 5 to 15 students per group. This means every student receives individual attention from the teacher and can ask questions without hesitation. SEN classes are even smaller.
Regular progress updates are part of how we work — not just once per term. Teachers track each student individually, celebrate milestones, and communicate with parents when things need attention. You will always know where your child stands.
Yes. Darul Yasin is one of Leeds' only SEN-friendly madrasas. We support children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other additional learning needs using adapted teaching methods and smaller class sizes.
Please message us on 07731 926357 to discuss your child's specific needs before enrolling — we want to make sure we set things up to work well from day one.
We are at 256 Dewsbury Road, Beeston, Leeds LS11 6JQ — on the main Dewsbury Road, with good bus connections from the city centre and surrounding areas including Morley and Middleton.
Street parking is available on Dewsbury Road and nearby side streets. If you have any difficulty finding us, call or WhatsApp us on 07731 926357 and we will guide you in.

Your questions about the Alimiyyah programme answered
One of the only full Alimiyyah programmes in West Yorkshire — available in-person and online.
Alim is the masculine title and Alimah is the feminine — both refer to a qualified Islamic scholar who has completed the Alimiyyah programme. The curriculum is the same; the title reflects gender. Both are equally recognised and respected designations.
Some foundational Arabic reading ability is expected, as the programme uses classical Arabic texts from the outset. However, the level required varies — contact us to discuss your current level and we can advise whether you are ready to begin or if a short preparation period would help.
The full Alimiyyah programme is 6 years. This is a comprehensive Islamic scholarship qualification — not a short course. It covers Fiqh, Hadith, Tafseer, Arabic, Islamic history, Usool, and more across the duration.
The programme covers the full Dars-e-Nizami curriculum, including:
- Arabic language and grammar (Sarf and Nahw)
- Quran and Tafseer
- Hadith — including major collections (Bukhari, Muslim, Tirmidhi, and others)
- Fiqh — Islamic jurisprudence
- Usool ul-Fiqh — principles of Islamic law
- Aqeedah — Islamic theology and belief
- Islamic history and Seerah
- Mantiq — Islamic logic
Yes. Our Alimiyyah programme follows the Dars-e-Nizami syllabus — the traditional Islamic scholarship curriculum taught across recognised institutions in the UK and internationally.
Please contact us directly on 07731 926357 to discuss this — it is an important question and we are happy to answer fully before you enrol.
Yes. The online Alimiyyah programme is available for students who cannot attend in-person at our Leeds centre. Live sessions are scheduled with flexibility to accommodate working students. Online students follow the same curriculum and receive the same qualification on completion.
Please contact us to discuss the current timetable — session hours vary by year of study and delivery format (in-person vs online). We will give you an honest picture of the commitment expected so you can plan accordingly.
Yes — the online Alimiyyah programme is specifically designed to accommodate students with full-time work. Sessions are scheduled to minimise conflict with working hours. Many of our Alimiyyah students are working professionals.
It does require dedication and time management — this is a serious qualification. But it is absolutely achievable alongside work with the right structure in place.
Our online Alimiyyah programme has students joining from London, Birmingham, Manchester, and beyond. You do not need to be in Leeds. Sessions are delivered online with scheduling designed to work around employment.
Message us on 07731 926357 or email us with your situation — we will walk you through how the timetable would work for you specifically before you commit to anything.
Discuss your situation with us ✉Contact us to discuss this — we understand not everyone can commit to a full weekly schedule immediately. We want to find the right arrangement rather than turn away motivated students.
Please contact us to discuss our policy on missed sessions — it is worth having this conversation before enrolment so expectations are clear on both sides.
Yes. Students who complete the full Alimiyyah programme receive a certificate of completion. Contact us to discuss the specifics of the qualification and its recognition.
Intake dates vary. Please contact us on 07731 926357 for the current start date, application deadline, and whether places are still available for this cohort.
Our programme follows the Dars-e-Nizami curriculum which is the standard for Alimiyyah qualifications in the UK. For specific questions about recognition — for further study, teaching, or other purposes — please speak to us directly so we can give you an accurate and honest answer.
